On Sunday 14th January we were invited to Norwich Cathedral to take part in the celebrations for Plough Sunday and evensong.
Plough Sunday marks the beginning of the agricultural year, the seed and equipment being blessed in the hope of a successful harvest.
Once we were all in place the tractors with ploughs paraded round the Close at the Cathedral, the Dean looked completely at ease seated upon George’s tractor just before the parade. We all had a good if slightly chilly time and those of us who went to evensong were more than rewarded by a beautiful service.
Our thanks to the Cathedral staff for all their help, after all it’s not everyday you get to see a tractor and ploughs in Church.
