The Aylsham Show took place on Monday 26th August in the beautiful setting of Blickling Hall parkland where club members and members of the Nice Society enjoyed the beautiful sunshine for the complete day.
Engines and tractors treated the public to a good show of working engines, including a 5hp 1929 Petter M Appletop, a 3hp Appletop petter with Bamford no 0 cornmill, Ruston Hornsby model PB drivinga Climax 702 water pump, the Lister generator and many other engines made for good viewing in the engine ring. The exhibitors seemed to have a good time telling the interested public what the engines did in their working lives.
The tractors and horticultural exhibits displayed were very varied, my favorite of the day was a Case R 1938 it stood alongside a Case LA1948 together they made a very pleasing sight. 3 John Deere garden tractors one with implement attached complemented lots of other exhibits.
The parade around the main ring with Colin commentating provided lots of information for all those who watched, he has great knowledge which he is always keen to share.
Once again thanks to the team who made this event possible, and to the exhibitors, and all those who give their time so generously.
Our next event is Newark, 10th & 11th November.
Finally the end of year and Christmas is fast approaching, the date for the annual dinner is Saturday January 11th 2014 at The Wensum Valley Hotel, Taverham, Norwich, where all members and friends are welcome.
