Spring Fling / The Eastern Counties Vintage Show

We are now into May and the club has had a very busy start to spring our first outing was to the Norfolk Showground for the Spring Fling, as in previous years this is a very hands on event for children. Much fun and pleasure is had by the children, parents, carers, and all those who take part in being able to learn about our vintage machinery and the place which they took in agricultural years ago. We feel it is a very important part of our club to be able to support this educational event which gives good insight into where our food comes from and how it is produced. As always we thank our members for taking their exhibits to be handled by very enthusiastic youngsters and public. Our next outing was again at the Showground this time for The Eastern Counties Vintage Show we all had an excellent time and Roger had some amazing exhibits on show throughout the weekend and it is a great credit to all exhibitors that we can all come together and put on such a fantastic display. As usual the club had numerous tractors and implements on display and also a big display of chainsaws. It is always good to see something different. Saturday evening there was a dinner with music and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Bob for dishing out our food at the table. Finally we attended the Game and Country Fair the weather was chilly and almost dry engine tractors and horticultural equipment were in good supply, although once again it was almost a static display lots of people enjoyed and reminisced their younger years spent using some of the kit on display, does this mean that some of us members are now vintage? It was lovely to have the brand new crane on our stand and it certainly generated much interest. Our thanks as always to those who spend much time setting up and dismantling the site. Finally I would just like to thank Adrian and Steven for the good time we had at the May club night where we had the opportunity to take part in using Handbells. I don't think any of us will be giving up our day...
